What is "T-School?"

The US Poker Tour’s T-School is intended to help serious poker players improve their game - regardless of whether they’re beginners or skilled, more advanced, players. T-School is comprised of 5 days, including poker seminars, a reception party, a final tournament where students can win cash, and live play practice. But the live play is not just fun and games; it’s a significant learning opportunity.

In addition to classroom learning supplemented by plenty of time for question and answer sessions and interaction with instructors, T-School will have at least one sit-and-go event each day, taking about an hour. These will be set up with 9 or ten players per table, with sufficient tables to give everyone attending a chance to play. One instructor will be stationed at each table, and instructors will rotate to give participants the benefit or hearing from a variety of experts.

The T-School SNG will differ from a typical one-table tournament in only one way: At any point where there is a teaching and learning opportunity, the instructor will ask players to turn their cards face-up, so that points can be made, clarified, and discussed.

T-School also features an all-participants tournament prior to the final question and answer session.

All students will receive a Certificate of Participation. Their USPT membership will be extended one year from their date of their participation, and they will receive a new membership card reflecting their participation in “T” School.

National Ranking Points and payouts will be issued using the USPT –Tier 2 tournament structure and rules. The top 20 finishers in the T-School tournament will be exempt from meeting any of the qualifying requirements for any “Specialty” USPT Tournaments for one year following their T-School attendance, although they still must pay the buy-ins for any tournament in which they participate.
